The Fertile Circle – Raquel Cool, Leah Campbell & Miriam Zoll

Artist, Raquel Cool came onto Artists on Art on October 9, 2013 to talk about her new art work, the Fertile Circle, Egg Donors to Adoption and Everything in Between and working collaboratively with Leah Campbell and Miriam Zoll.The three women, Raquel Cool, Leah Campbell and Miriam Zoll, met online through the group co-founded by Raquel, We Are Egg Donors. They began discussing how their unique experiences with egg donation and in-vitro fertilization could weave together a narrative dictated, in part, from books they have written. Campell’s Single Infertile Female, and Zoll’s Cracked Open: Liberty, Fertility and the Pursuit of High-Tech Babies (Interlink-June 2013) were both released in 2013, and Cool’s memoir, Work in Progress: On Hauling Cadavers, Selling My Eggs, and Other Unlikely Jobs, will be released in 2014.The Fertile Circle will feature two events. First, there will be an Art Reception with Dramatic readings and performance by Cool, Zoll, and Campbell; reception for ARO’s Body exhibition; and liquid nitrogen cocktails on Saturday, October  19, 2013, from 7pm-10pm, at Art Research Office (285 Water Street, Unit B, behind Vapor Cleaners.)

Second, there will be an Author Talk and Book Signing at the Capitola Book Cafe will host a public conversation by Miriam Zoll and Leah Campbell on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 7:30pm. Capitola Book Cafe is located on 1475 41st Ave, Capitola, CA.
